The Day the Music Died

Legendary TV host Dick Clark died Wednesday of a massive heart attack. He was 82 years old. Clark had been a regular pick in the Circling Buzzards since suffering a stroke in 2004. This year it was Greg who picked Clark and he gets the 18 points. It is Greg's second death and puts him in second place with 37 points.

The Picks Have Been Updated

The 2012 Death Pool picks have been entered. As stated in the last post, each member already has one death on their list. Things got started with Gene Bartow (Greg gets 1st death of year sidebet). Etta James and Joe Pa quickly followed. And the recent passing of Hall of Famer Gary Carter puts Izzy in the early lead.

It's either going to be a really fun year for the Buzzards or we're headed for a long slump.

Four Deaths in the Frist Two Months

Now that every member of the Buzzards has recorded a death in 2012, it's about time to update the site. I'll work on it this weekend. Stay tuned and keep circling.....

Jose Alencar - March 29, 2011

Former Brazilian Vice President Jose Alencar died on March 29th after a long battle with abdominal cancer. He was 79. The textile magnate shared eight years of government with Brazil's first working-class president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
