Birthday: Jerry Lewis

Born in New Jersey of parents in the entertainment industry, Jerry Lewis made his debut at the age of five in "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" In 1946 he began working with Dean Martin doing improvised shows. In 1949 the duo appeared in their first film, My Friend Irma. The superstar team would go on to make 16 feature films together as well as numerous live appearances. Through the 1960's, Lewis began directing and won awards for his work throughout Europe. The French were particularly impressed with his work.

Lewis has been widely recognized for his work and telethon to fight Muscular Dystrophy. His annual Labor Day event has not only raised money but also awareness for a horrible disease.

"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

If Jerry Lewis died today he would be worth 21 points for Dave.
